This survey, conducted by Digitate and Sapio Research, explores the state of enterprise AI and automation adoption across seven European countries: Benelux, Finland, France, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK. It examines strategies, challenges, risks, the future outlook and technology implementation plans.
Some key findings from the research include:
- 60% of organizations report significant time savings, 57% cite increased efficiency, and 55% have seen higher productivity as a result of their AI and automation implementations
- IT operations is the leading area for deployment, with 81% of organizations using automation and 62% using AI in their IT departments

The full report covers even more topics, including regional variations in adoption and implementation of these technologies.
This European survey follows a similar study conducted by Digitate in the U.S., which revealed a significant shift towards autonomous operations, The U.S. survey, titled “How AI and automation are shaping the enterprise roadmap”, highlighted that enterprises are rapidly embracing AI and automation, with 26% of IT leaders reported plans to implement machine-operated tasks for fully autonomous systems within five years.
