In our recent survey conducted with Sapio Research across 600 IT decision-makers from large North American organizations, a clear picture emerged: IT has become the primary proving ground for enterprise AI, with adoption outpacing every other business function. As AI matures within IT, the gains are beginning to ripple outward, and enterprises are already feeling the shift. Here’s what it reveals:Â
- 62% of organizations expect Agentic AI to support new or previously unhandled functions.Â
- 54% anticipate AI agents acting as workflow or personal assistants, working side-by-side with humans, helping automate contextual, daily activities.Â
- 53% foresee Agentic AI facilitating full automation at the departmental level.Â
- 52% believe Agentic AI will fundamentally reshape key tasks within their roles.Â
Adoption is especially strong in areas demanding adaptive, decision-focused systems, including IT operations, customer support, automated reporting, and software development. Across these domains, Agentic AI is already driving significant improvements in service quality, responsiveness, and predictive accuracy.Â
Among various AI Agent use cases, customer self-service and reporting & analytics have emerged as the most successful, outperforming traditional AI tools. Particularly notable, 67% of organizations that are high adopters of AI identify reporting & analytics as the area where AI Agents deliver the greatest impact, highlighting the Agentic AI’s powerful role in enhancing human skills.Â
