In 2021, Gartner, the world’s leading research and advisory company, included AI Engineering as one of its top strategic technology trends. On May 30, 2022, Gartner released its 2022 Market Guide for AIOps Platforms written by Pankaj Prasad, Padraig Byrne, and Gregg Siegfried. In it, Gartner shares how important AIOps is to IT operations by stating that “there is no future of IT operations that doesn’t include AIOps” and that “AIOps platforms enable decision making across design, deploy, execute and operate activities by automated contextualization of large, varied volumes of operational data.”
Over the past year, Gartner shared that 40% of all Gartner client inquiries on IT performance analysis was related to AIOps. AIOps is continuing its growth and influence on the IT Operations Management market with a projected market size to be around $2.1 billion by 2025 with an annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 19%.
AIOps Platform Capabilities
The idea of AIOps was to collect events from a number of monitoring tools that attempted pattern matching to isolate the root cause of problems. The issue with this was that the systems didn’t have domain knowledge so they didn’t know what they were evaluating. Another problem was in order to recognize the issue, the system had to have seen that issue before with the exact same fingerprint. These two issues led to gaping holes in what was previously referred to as stand-alone AIOps solutions. Today’s AIOps platforms should have unified monitoring that contains all the data and topology to inform machine learning algorithms to precisely pinpoint problems and root cause issues.
According to Gartner, an AIOps platform needs to have the following capabilities:
● Explainability and interpretability
● Data ingestion and handling
● Machine learning analytics
● Automated insights
● Adaptive remediation

Are You an Infrastructure and Operations Leader?
Gartner recommends that infrastructure and operations leaders leverage AIOps platforms to analyze and share application lifecycle insights to make digital business observable. An AIOps platform ingests, indexes, and normalizes events or telemetry from multiple tools or sources, including infrastructure, networks, applications, the cloud, or existing monitoring tools. Enterprises are replacing some traditional monitoring tool categories by embedding them within AIOps platforms. In the report, Gartner provides four key recommendations to ultimately achieve AIOps platform success.
Are You Evaluating AIOps Platform Vendors?
The 2022 Gartner Market Guide for AIOps Platforms mentions 21 AIOps platform vendors that range in capabilities such as data ingest and out-of-the-box use cases with minimal configuration. As a recognized vendor in the 2022 Gartner Market Guide for AIOps Platforms, we believe that Digitate’s ignio AIOps is helping enterprises bring agility, assurance, and resiliency to infrastructure and business operations with a distinctive closed-loop approach that autonomously resolves and prevents issues.
Digitate for AIOps Sucess
ignio AIOps combines artificial intelligence and machine learning with automation. ignio mines different data sources within an enterprise to self learn cross layer technology dependencies and component behaviors. ignio then leverages this contextual awareness to mimic human experts in handling situations. It isolates the root cause for an observed IT fault, prescribes the best fix, and applies it autonomously to recover. ignio checks the health of business critical technology components proactively and continuously, identifies potential hotspots, and recommends different options to prevent any business disruption and takes appropriate action.
